CCLD will open for full-day, in-house browsing, starting 9/14.

Starting Monday, September 14th, 2020, the Chemung County Library District will open all branches for full-day, in-house browsing. Patrons can make a quick selection of materials (limiting visits to 30 minutes once a day), check out and exit the building.

The new hours of service will be:

Steele Memorial – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 6pm; Thursday from 11am to 7pm; Fridays from 9am to 5pm; Saturdays, 1pm to 5pm (starting October 17th).

Horseheads – Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 6pm, Wednesdays from 11am to 7pm; Fridays from 9am to 5pm; Saturdays, 1pm to 5pm (starting October 17th).

Big Flats – Mondays from 12pm to 5pm, Tuesdays from 12pm to 8pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 6pm, Fridays 12pm to 5pm.

West Elmira – Mondays from 12pm to 8pm, Tuesdays from 12pm to 5pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 6pm and Fridays from 12pm to 5pm.

Van Etten – Mondays 1pm to 5pm, Wednesdays from 1pm to 7pm and Fridays from 11am to 5pm.

Bookmobile – Service will resume on Monday, October 5th. The schedule will be made available on our website when it is completed.

In order to ensure customer and staff safety there will be no seating areas available. Public computer use during this phase of the reopening process is limited to 30 minute sessions. Online programming will continue, but there will be no in-house events and no public meeting room use at this time.

Curbside service will continue for customers who wish to pick up materials without entering the building. This service will continue with customers calling their branch to make an appointment for pick-up.

All efforts are being made to fully return to serving customers while mitigating any potential spread of the coronavirus. As we begin to re-open we ask that patrons follow the library usage guidelines and the governor’s directive to wear a mask.
