Election Day is just FOUR days away TODAY and we’ve got some resources that you can share to help ensure everyone turns out!

  • Find Your Polling Place —  Rock the Vote and Vote.Org. You could also find state-specific tools at your local election offices (see below).
  • Candidate Guides — There are literally hundreds of elected officials looking for votes on Tuesday and people need help sorting through what they all stand for. Robust guides are available at Ballotpedia, Ballot Ready, and Vote411.
  • Discount Rides to the Polls — Ride-share services offer discounted rides for voters looking to get to the polls. Find out more about Lyft, Uber and Lime.
  • Election Day Hotlines866-OUR-VOTE isn’t just a handy phone number, it’s a robust resource for every citizen’s voting needs if they experience problems at the polls. It’s available in Spanish at 866-VE-Y-VOTA. There’s a similar hotline at 888-API-VOTE with operators fluent in several Asian languages.

US Senator from NY: Incumbent Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand is running against Republican Chele Farley.

US Representative New York’s 23rd Congressional District  (located in the southwestern portion of the state and includes Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Steuben, Yates, Schuyler, Seneca, Tompkins and Chemung counties and parts of Ontario and Tioga counties.)
Republican Incumbent Tom Reed is facing off against Democratic Challenger Tracy Mitrano.

NYS Governor: Facing Democratic Incumbent Andrew Cuomo in the election are Stephanie Miner (Independent) and Republican Marcus Molinaro. Larry Sharp (L) and Howie Hawkins (G) are also running.

NYS Lieutenant Governor: Kathy Hochul (D), Julie Killian (R), Andrew Hollister (L), Michael Volpe, and Jia Lee (G).

NYS Comptroller: Incumbent Democrat Thomas DiNapoli is up against Republican Jonathan Trichter, Mark Dunlea of the Green Party, and Cruger Gallaudet (L).

NYS Attorney General: (Incumbent Eric Schneiderman resigned on May 8, 2018).
Democratic Candidates:  Letitia James
Republican Candidate: Keith Wofford
Reform: Michael Diederich, Jr., Christopher B. Garvey, Nancy Sliwa

NY State Senate. District 58  (five counties across the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions: Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties, and a portion of Tompkins County (the city and town of Ithaca, and the towns of Enfield, Newfield and Ulysses)).
Running for this seat are: Republican Incumbent Thomas O’Mara and Democratic Challenger Amanda Kirchgessner.

NYS Assembly District 124: This district includes the Town of Maine in Broome County; the City of Elmira; the towns of Ashland, Baldwin, Big Flats, Chemung, Elmira, Horseheads, Southport, and the villages of Elmira Heights, Horseheads, and Wellsburg in Chemung County; and all of Tioga County.
Republican Incumbent Christopher Friend is being challenged by Democratic candidate Bill Batrowny.

NYS Supreme Court Justice: Elizabeth A Burns (D) and Joe McBride (R).

New Voting Locations for CCLD Board of Trustees

*NOTICE TO CHEMUNG COUNTY REGISTERED VOTERS*

On Election Day, November 6th, 2018, please visit the Steele Memorial Library (101 E. Church St., Elmira) or the Horseheads Free Library (405 S. Main St., Horseheads) to vote for candidates running in your district for open seats on the Board of Trustees.

Open Seat Districts Are:
2nd Big Flats–Ann Hayes
7th Town of Elmira–Rachel Dworkin
11th City of Elmira–Lee Saginario
12th Southport–Write in candidates
15th Ashland, Wellsburg–Write in Candidates
