Books Sandwiched In. Winter 2020 edition

For those of you who may have missed today’s Books Sandwiched In, be sure to mark your calendars for the next three installments of this popular series.

Friday March 6, 12pm-1pm:

Today’s book: “Lab Girl” by Hope Jahem, Geologist at the University of Hawaii. Reviewed by Janna Lindsay, “First Lady” of Elmira College.

Enjoy Book reviews, discussion, and a light luncheon with the Friends of Chemung County Library District!
All proceeds go to support CCLD libraries. Lunch is $4.00 per person, or you may bring your own lunch.
If schools are closed due to inclement weather, the book review will be rescheduled.

Friday March 13, 12pm-1pm:

Today’s book: “The Unlikely Adventures of Alex and Nan” written & reviewed by Martha Horton & Alan DeWolfe.

Enjoy Book reviews, discussion, and a light luncheon with the Friends of Chemung County Library District!
All proceeds go to support CCLD libraries. Lunch is $4.00 per person, or you may bring your own lunch.
If schools are closed due to inclement weather, the book review will be rescheduled.

Arrive early or stay after to shop the Friends of CCLD Book Store located on the first floor of Steele Library, to the right of the elevator. Open during the regular hours of Steele Library. Hardcovers $2; paperbacks $1; books for all ages.

Today’s book: “A Civil War Courtship: The Letters of Edwin Weller from Antietam to Atlanta by William Walton. Reviewed by George Farr, a local history enthusiast, researcher, and lecturer.
