1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Sign up your Infant, Toddler or Preschooler for this reading rewards program at any CCLD Library. The child earns stickers for every 100 books read; at the 500 level the child earns a book and when the challenge is completed, the child receives an adorable ducky lunch bag, just in time for Kindergarten.
Studies have shown that families who start reading aloud to their children at birth help strengthen their language skills and build their vocabulary — two important tools when they begin learning to read in kindergarten.
Log sheets are available on the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten website, or you can pick some up at your local library when you sign up.
