The Chemung County Library District – Steele Memorial Library will receive sealed bids for the 2nd Floor Renovation Project until 2:00 PM prevailing time on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Steele Memorial Library, 101 East Church Street, Elmira, New York 14901. The bids will be publicly read at 3:00 PM on the date indicated above.
The work includes renovations to a portion of the 2nd floor to support installation of modular wall system provided by others. Work to include new flooring, doors and hardware, modification of the suspended ceiling system, HVAC modifications, and modifications of some electrical lighting, switching and outlets.
All bids are to be submitted on the Bid Forms contained in the Contract Documents.
Bid Documents may be viewed and obtained as follows:
- Drawings and Specification are available from AJH Design, 111 East 14th Street, Elmira Heights, NY 14903 for a non-refundable fee of $75.00 made payable to AJH Design. Please call in advance to arrange for printing.
- Electronic copies of the drawings on CD or via email shall be available free of charge. You may obtain specifications and drawing by calling or emailing AJH Design at: (607) 737-4638 or info@ajh-design.com
- Each contractor shall provide an email address and phone number for receipt of addenda.
- Bid Documents will not be released without payment.
A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at the Job Site, Steele Memorial Library, 101 East Church Street, Elmira, NY 14901 at 11 AM, Thursday, February 7, 2019. Attendance is highly recommended.

The proposal envelope must be sealed and clearly marked as the bid for CCLD – Steele Memorial Library 2nd Floor Renovations with the name and address of the bidder.
Bids may be held by the CCLD – Steele Memorial Library for up to 60 days from the date of opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the contract. The CCLD – Steele Memorial Library reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities, or to negotiate contract amounts.
