CCLD Operations During Quarantine

Library resources we can use while branches are closed: We will open for curbside service only on June 29. 
The Library provides a wide array of digital offerings, including e-books, audiobooks, and movie streaming for borrowing on OverDrive, research databases, and access to a multitude of online resources. Apply online for a CCLD Library Card


This year, the CCLD is offering Summer Reading Programs for ALL AGES!
Our theme – Imagine Your Story – explores myths, folktales and fairy tales.
We’ll be using an online platform called Readsquared, where you can register, log your reading and other activities, and see the rewards you’ve earned. Logging for the whole family is a breeze! To find out more and sign up, click here.
Summer Reading will run June 29 – August 7.
For children who do not want to participate online, call the Steele Memorial Library at 607-733-9174 to register and receive your reading log by mail.

TumbleBooks has offered the Chemung County Library District free access to its electronic book collection through August 31st, 2020. No login or library card required. Unlimited access. Read as many books as you want on any device. No checkouts, holds, or bulky downloads. Books are available instantly.

What if my items are due? Will I accrue late fees?
The due dates for all checked-out circulating materials have been extended to when we re-open. No late fees should accrue on materials that were originally due during the closure period.

Can I drop off my materials in outdoor book drops?
Outdoor book drops will also be closed during this time period.

What if some of my holds are ready for pick up?
Holds that are listed as ready for pick-up will be held at the branches until we re-open. Please disregard the pick-up by date listed in your account.

My library card is about to expire. How can I renew?
Please contact our Digital Reference Librarian.  Don’t have a library card? Apply Online here!

What You Can Do

Keep Yourself and Your Community Healthy

  • Stay home if you are not feeling well or experiencing flu-like symptoms. Contact your doctor. Call 311 if you need connection to a medical professional.
