The Steele Memorial Library’s quiet room is not intended for group study or other group activities, rather it has been constructed to provide, "balance between patrons participating in programs and patrons who prefer a quiet library environment." (CCLD 2008-2012 Strategic Plan). There are 4 seats available to individual patrons that can be reserved in advance or depending upon availability, on a first come first serve basis.
All quiet room users are expected to abide by the following rules:
Quiet room users will observe the CCLD Meeting Room Policy.
Quiet room users will observe the CCLD Code of Conduct Policy.
All Cell phones must be turned off.
Audio Settings on laptop, tablet, netbook computers, or other portable devices including but not limited to Ipods, MP3 players and portable game devices must be set to mute. IE: headphone use is prohibited.
No conversations above a whisper.
Maximum Occupancy 4
Time limit—to allow all patrons the opportunity to use the quiet room, the maximum use is 3 hours per day.
Age limit—Quiet room user must be age 16 or higher.
Food and beverages may not be consumed in the quiet room.
Failure to comply with these rules may lead to loss of Quiet Room use privileges.
